1.0  LOOKING UP PRODUCTS FROM OUR HOME PAGE
To access our products on our site, you can either:

USE THE GREEN/YELLOW NAVIGATION TOOL (LEFT HAND SIDE OF PAGE)
a) Using the buttons along the right hand side of the page, , click on 'Custom Products >'. 

b) After doing so, press Enter to enter Custom Products.  Then a Cascade Menu will pop-up displaying a list of product categories, click the category you want and you will be taken to the main listing of that product category.  Or click on a Catalog or Product link from the menus...

c) From there, just "click your way round the block!"...  Categories are:  Desktop PCs, Laptops and Servers.

3.0   For users who want to search for one of 215,000 brand name products: LOOKING UP PRODUCTS in our ADVANCED COMPUTING TECHNOLOGY SUPERSTORE (requires login) is easy.

The CSS Advanced Computing Technology SuperStore (ACTion Superstore™... powered by PC Maker technology!) is definitely oriented towards users who want to do serious shopping, comparison pricing, features analysis and other serious research.  It was developed for our Business and Government customers.  Even so, knowledgeable consumers may find exquisite deals, extraordinary information and substantial price savings within.  Opening an account is simple (just provide your email... you can update any information later on when you decide to order something...) 

Using a free, simple login gains you access to the 215,000 products CSS (USA) Advanced Computing Technology SuperStore which stores PRODUCT INFO, SPECS, PRICING, online ordering, Purchase Orders, product comparisons etc.  You'll have the same products available to you that "the Big Boys" do, even those that ordinarily only manufacturers and store chains can buy.  [ Please note: PC Maker International, an independent contractor, provides this advanced super store front technology to the computer industry, and is not part of CSS (USA) or any of the companies found in our Line Card. ]

The advanced "Computer Shopping Dashboard" provided on the CSS ACTion Superstore is a little more sophisticated than either of the above shopping methods.   When you press any Log On button or link on our site, or "Log on to Order" link, and they will take you to the main INSIDE entrance to our Advanced Technology Superstore.  Most of the products elsewhere on our main website, and 439,000 more NOT found on the main website  http://www.compamericadirect.com, are available only through our CSS ACTion Superstore. Click this Line Card link for the brand names of all the products you can buy through us.  Then, login, and look around.  It's quite amazing what you will find.

(When you get the Login page, simply put in your email and password, if you previously registered with us.  If not, just self register, by adding your email and password and name to our privacy assured Login system.)

Then, once you connect with our PCMaker Store, you have three ways to get access to products using shopping technology that makes Yahoo! blush. 

a) By Searching - which is subdivided into three kinds of search - simple word search - single category, manufacturer and filter search and one "super duper" search that combines category, manufacturer and word searches with filters, for more sophisticated users.

b) By Category Lookup - which lets you browser through categories for product from many manufacturers and subcategories.  A nice feature is that you can switch to Search Mode at any time!

c) By Manufacturer Lookup - this products multiple pages of a particular single manufacturer's product, allowing you to browse or Search through them for a product you know the maker of.

Try "Manufacturer" to look up something like an Intel Pentium 4 upgrade (e.g.- Manufacturer, I for Intel, Intel and then click on Product and select "Processor Upgrades").  We have all kinds of filter choices you can set, but this way is easier.  If you want to look at many manufacturers, try going in by Category (e.g.- Laptops, 16", Pentium 4 CPU, and DVD/CDRW Combo... and voila, all of the laptops we carry in that combination of choices show up with prices and models and PRODUCT INFO.

If you want to, you can combine different methods, like Category and Manufacturer.  You can add products to your List of Favorites, and then see them side by side.  And you can put them in your Shopping Cart, without actually buying them.  They'll still be there the next time you come to visit us.

A powerful feature, COMPARISON SHOPPING, is built in, it lets you call up competing products and list their features and prices side by side.  An online HELP GUIDE is built into the Superstore to help you find these products.

If you've bought from us, you know you can always reach your Tech Support Specialist night or day by phone or eMail.  Even so, sometimes you want to look up additional information on our Website, or use one of the Forums. Just click the Tech Support button at the top of the homepage beneath the "Login" tab.  Or, select Support, on the left hand navigation button tool (green and yellow) and you'll be given Tech Support options. Once at the Support Page, you have many choices, including a WebBBS on Yahoo and one on MSN to leave messages on, Forums, Download Libraries for drivers for EVERYTHING, and even direct support options for FREE even if you aren't one of our customers.  We accept support requests from EVERYONE, and are always interested in helping, because through quality tech support, we believe we'll win your business! 

We will also soon have a 24x7 live tech support chat-bot named "MIKE", who will be on the site soon to demonstrate this new type of Web Browser interface.  MIKE should be able to clarify things for you, even if you can't reach your 24x7 System Engineer or we are closed for the day or a Holiday. By addressing questions to MIKE, you should at that time be able to place tech support inquiries to our engineers in non-real time via a simple to use chat interface, AND MIKE may even be equipped provide you a pointer to online features and information! MIKE, our ARTIFICIALLY INTELLIGENT CHAT-BOT Sales and Help Desk interface is being perfected as we speak, so as to automate the interface to our website better: and provide more assistance than just simple web pages can provide.

8.0  BROWSERS FOR OUR HOME PAGE AND SUPERSTORE.

We recommend use of Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later, and either Microsoft Java Virtual Machine or Sun Microsystems JAVA VS2EE available here if your O/S does not have a Microsoft Java Virtual Machine.  NETSCAPE 7.1 or later works with our site too. An excellent alternative browser called "Opera" is also available and works well with our site (but you must have some form of JAVA installed and enabled).

9.0  DRIVERS.

Our Driver Library is found at: http://www.compamericadirect.com/drivers. It is QUITE large.  If you need help using it, please call for support at 908-931-1200.

10.0  SITE PRIVACY SUMMARY

We do not use a cookie system on our main website, nor do we collect usernames there.  Usernames are stored, with orders, PO info and other private ecommerce system OFFSITE on our eCommerce system.  None of the information gathered in our eCommerce system is used for anything except to reply to, fill and verify your Orders.  At your request we will delete all records we kept of anything but your active and filled orders.  Please see above for our mailing address.

11.0  MINORS AND PRE-TEENS.

We endorse the United States Department of Commerce "TEEN PRIVACY" initiatives and associated law.  As such, we will never knowingly carry any products, software or services featuring "adult content" on our open websites.  While minors (young persons under the age of consent in their country or state) are welcome to visit our websites, they are not allowed to leave any private information of any kind, and must first obtain the permission of their parents before visiting us.  We will not knowingly accept any order from any minors or underage young persons, and if we discover any underage persons engaging in the eCommerce sites, we are forced to remove such records from our databases by applicable law.

12.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REPORTING.

CSS maintains a continuous monitor on product quality for it's own products and for those of the many brands we carry (see our Line Card).  If you have any question about a product, need help getting it repaired or are concerned about it's features, please contact our TECH SUPPORT department... or use the "FEEDBACK" button on our Homepage to send a product inquiry to us.  We require all of our vendors who supply products we sell to customers to maintain a quality assurance level consistent with our standard product quality requirements at CSS.  If one does not, they could easily be disqualified from ever selling a product through CSS again.  So do not feel afraid to report a problem you noticed with any product purchased through us.  We thank people who do, by giving them a courtesy discount off their next purchase.  By letting us know that something needs improvement, you help us help you!  It's not worth it to us to simply make a profit without ensuring the products you buy are the best that money can buy.

13.0  EASY RETURN LAPTOP PROGRAM.

Not happy with your laptop product?  Any time in the first 21 days after receipt of one of our laptops, you may return it for a store credit with no questions asked.  To date, NOT A SINGLE CUSTOMER HAS EVER RETURNED A PC, LAPTOP, OR SERVER.  Yet, our policy on Laptops is simple!  For PC repair or replacement, or Server repair or replacement, simply call your Sales Rep and he or she will help !!  Laptops bargain priced below $800, and all "special sale", "refurbished" and "clearance" laptops are final sale only...
